Clinical Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis is a state of focused attention within a highly relaxed state. Clinical hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness that is used by trained, licensed professionals for treating psychological and/or physical concerns. The use of clinical hypnosis, or hypnotherapy, is to help clients bring about both psychological and physiological change in different ways. In a state of concentrated attention, ideas and suggestions have a more powerful impact on the mind. Hypnosis may also be used for unconscious exploration, to better understand underlying motivations of certain behaviors.

At Gurnee Counseling Center, the main focus of clinical hypnosis is to help individuals develop further understanding of themselves while building upon skills to help control problematic symptoms. There are many ways that clinical hypnosis can help benefit an individual’s life, the therapists at GCC are focused specifically on addressing symptoms of anxiety and depression. Added benefits of hypnosis include increased self-image, self-appreciation and personal motivation.
